Actual IT January 2010 |
Introduction January is a special month for us. It’s the start of a new year of course, but it’s also the anniversary of the founding of commonIT just one year ago. Thanks to our customers, partners, investors, and co-workers, Virtual Browser is making a place for itself in the IT landscape. We didn’t expect things to be easy; positioning an innovative technology like Virtual Browser on the market means convincing people to take a new look at things. But the ball is rolling and with your support, we’ll be accelerating our development in 2010. |

Universal Browser for the Cloud |
![]() |
As 2009 came to a close we released version 1.3 of the Virtual Browser solution. The hot new feature in version 1.3 is native support for ICA and RDP clients, so that the end-user, via a single desktop utility – Virtual Browser – has transparent access to web-enabled resources and “virtual desktop” applications. In other words, Virtual Browser now offers secure, platform-independent access to Cloud resources – the universal client for the cloud.

In 2010, the threat will come from social networking |
![]() |
Researchers at McAfee Labs have just published their annual threat update, "2010 Threat Predictions". Reading it we learn, not surprisingly, that the browser remains the key vector for attacks, but with social networking sites growing fast as the source. The McAfee report also covers the growth in exploits based on vulnerabilities in browser add-ins and extensions, and the risks of HTML 5.0 “blurring and removing the lines between a web application and a desktop application”. The need for the enterprise to isolate different web usages based on security policies will become increasingly urgent in 2010.
