CommonIT partners with Forum Atena for the Future of the Internet |

Following our highly successful participation in the "Assises de la sécurité" conference in Monaco in October, we'll be partnering with French telecom industry grouping Forum Atena for their "Future of the Internet" conference on January 21st. The prestigious panel for this conference includes internet pioneers Vinton Cerf, Bob Kahn et Louis Pouzin. Interactive videoconferencing facilities will allow participants to join in from five cities spread across France, including Lyon, where commonIT is working with the INSA engineering school to facilitate access for local participants. 0-day vulnerablity hits IE6 and IE7 |

The multiple browser vulnerabilities announced over the summer only help to prove the effectiveness of the Virtual Browser solution. Microsoft was forced to roll out an emergency patch for a vulnerability in the Video Control component of Internet Explorer. The Mozilla Firefox browser was the victim of a vulnerability in its Javascript engine. Safari and Chrome were also hit.

On July 13th Google ended a long period of rumours and anticipation by announcing the Google Chrome operating system. There was little to surprise us; Google has clearly identified the web as the key to delivering the next generation of IT solutions and services. We're really at the beginning of another IT revolution: a return to a centralized model with applications and data hosted “in the (private or public) cloud”, accessed via the web browser. Its a new paradigm and it opens up multiple, extensive possibilities for the Virtual Browser solution.
